The suppression bites. Legit conversation is suppressed to where I can only send line of text every 20-30 seconds, yet, anyone selling or buying can spam the same line of garbage every 2-3 seconds?

I think it needs to be turned off in GC, if the person keeps spamming me in GC, I'd just boot him from the guild, same for the TC, Teams only consist of 1-8 people, so if they are spamming in TC, only 1-8 have to deal, a quick map back to town to boot and the problem is fixed.

spammers will increase...i think they should also fix the bug where u can put numbers at the end of your post and not get supressed...it gets annoying

Recently there have been alot of "your message was suppresed due to excessing messaging" whenever I talk. It seems that the only place where it doesn't happen is in the guild hall. Now whenever I have a conversation with somone, one of those goes up following the other person 1. leaving because they think i went afk, or 2. They get mad for not responding to them.

I can understand the excessing messaging to go off when in "all" chat and "trade", but not in any of the rest.

I agree. It happened to me and I find it annoying. Why stop the spamming in guild chat or alliance chat. Guild leaders and officers have the power to kick a member out of the guild if they spam. The guild as a whole can complain to the leader if there is a member spamming, so it doesn't make sense for Anet to restrict spam messaging in those chats.

As for alliance chat they did a good job limiting it to only officers and leaders to talk in there. So why have that chat restricted to spam messaging? Alliance leaders can talk to the other Guild Leaders/Officers and if that guild doesn't cooperate then the alliance leader can kick the Guild out of the Alliance. So maybe we can make a petition out of this topic and vote to change this.

I think that limiting your ability to talk on whisper, guild, and alliance is not right especially about the fact it mostly depends on the other people using "all" chat. The only place that feels like I do not receive "excessive Messeging" is in the guildhall. I am just so pissed that my whispers always get interrupted. I mean if i was excessively messaging on whisper, that is why there is an "ignore" button...

whats really really pissing me off is that after a few times of that. i cant send to the guild chat or alliance chat even AT ALL. not one message no suppressed message. i have to log out and relogin in and then i can chat again for a few minutes. this is total BS and needs fixing. it is really irritating when trying to organize a gvg or alliance battle or ANYTHING at all. please god fix stupid chat errors.

As the guy who co-ordinated my guilds HA/GVG builds, having to bounce between 7 other people via wisper to tell builds, attributes, armour ect, this really cripples me, now i'm having to resort to using MSN at the same time to have a chance

Good grief I thought it was an exceedingly annoying bug - its screwing up team chat and guild chat and whispering to friends.

I didnt know it was a permanent INTENDED feature

I'm a touch typist, I type fast but dont use many abbreviations, I sometimes send the *same* message to different friends -or repeat something from whisper to guild chat

and I have had that error message a number of times.
I really thought that was a bug that would get worked out (factions chat / guild chat has been horridly bugged)

Is it just me or do you guys think the excessive messaging filter too EXCESSIVE? It doesn't really change anything is general chat. It just makes guild, ally, whisper chat more annoying to use. Why do we need an excessive messaging filter in those, when we have more control over them over general chat? Anyone else think excessive messaging filter needs a fix?

yes it need to be fixed. If i'm trading, i send my WTB message. Then I want to reply 2-3 time to my guild then nothing work, because of the filter...

After that, i'm getting an offer I cant reply to him because they delete that too...

Come on Filter for general/trade chat only and let the other chat free of this crap...

Meh, feels ok to me. It catches me a few times when say I'm spamming to try to join a group, but no big deal.

I wish they'd make it so that any line containing WTB or WTS is automatically moved to the Trade channel, and make it so that lines that have most of the same characters are filtered as well to catch the guys changing the last character so they can spam incessantly. I mean I won't even buy or join a group that has someone in it spammin like that,...prolly the same guys that ping the hell outta the compass all the way thru the quest,...got ritalin?

Ya, I was talking to my friend today while he was buying some items with his new found gold (he found a 15>50 celestial axe). He was asking me prices on things, and unfortunately, he bought a green item for 50k, thats only worth 10k...(morgriff staff). Because of the filter, he was scammed. This is the first of many problems this will cause me.
